This is not the first time that you have read about Philadelphia producer and drummer Will Yip at dosage MAGAZINE. It won’t be the last. I can promise you, however, that it will be the most important. And timely. And crucial.

dosage MAGAZINE and I have talked about Yip producing locals such as Title Fight, Japanese Breakfast, Tigers Jaw and more. From Yip’s room at Studio 4 in Conshohocken, he curated a new live streaming music series, “Live at Studio 4,” which started during the pandemic’s first summer.

Last week, and until the raffle’s entries close on April 8, Yip has been busy overseeing the launch (and maintenance) of a mega necessary online fundraising raffle for the Asian American Pacific Islander Community Fund. Focusing on the shooting of Asian women in Atlanta, but, of course, geared too to all violence, hatred and hatred toward Asians, Asian-Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States, the fund started with an ongoing GoFundMe in support of the AAPI Community Fund, and the #StopAsianHate hashtag.

“A horrific and heartbreaking surge in violence against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) is happening across the US. Too often, these attacks are ignored and underreported.” –

To aid that fund, Yip started a raffle with huge prize packages that include everything from Vans custom shoes, new Fender electric guitars to Zildjian cymbals and drums, to merch bundles from labels and artists he has worked with such as Circa Survive, Tigers Jaw, Title Fight, Japanese Breakfast, Anthony Green, Mannequin Pussy, the Menzingers, and more. So far, Yip has raised nearly $80,000 for a raffle whose gifts will be revealed after the last entries are due April 8 at midnight.

“The growing racism and violence against Asians in America has been horrific,” writes Yip. “It’s been even more apparent as of late. We need to come together and stand up for one another and keep each other safe. I’m very grateful for the community of artists, instrument makers, record labels and brands who stand with me in fighting for the rights of AAPI. With everyone’s generous contributions, we are raffling off (3) incredible and unique Grand Prizes in which all proceeds will benefit the AAPI Community Fund. Thank you all in advance for supporting. Please spread the word.”
