The Museum of Illusions hosts Tricks, Treats and Beats, its Adult-Only Halloween-Themed After-Hours Museum Experience.
This Halloween season, the Tricks, Treats and Beats experience at Philly’s Museum of Illusions “tricks” its visitors with over 60 exhibits designed to amuse, amaze and stimulate the senses. With fun, spooky sounds by DJ Martin, ghouls and goblins from all over Philadelphia danced the night away in a seemingly alternate reality.
Many of the museum exhibits are built to maximize social-media appeal, making it the perfect place for Instagram and social-media lovers. Installations like the Infinity Well use mirrors and LED lights to play around with the brain’s perception of depth, creating the visual illusion of a seemingly never-ending tunnel. The Infinity Room, Infinity Tunnel, Clone Table and Kaleidoscope are other examples of experiences that use light and mirrors to create a visual illusion, making perfect additions to your camera roll. Placards placed next to each installation add an educational element to this sensory experience.
Though lots of the museum exhibits create the perfect opportunity for a fun photo-op, there are an equal amount of interactive installations made to test your cognitive and problem-solving skills. Located in the center of the museum, the Smart Playroom challenges your mind with games, puzzles, and brain teasers and is bound to prolong your time at the museum.
Located at 401 Market Street, the museum’s next “Tricks, Treats and Beats” after-hours event will be held on October 26th and 27th, 2022. Admission time slots begin at 7:30 pm and end at 8:30 pm. The event is for those 21 and older. Two drinks are included with admission.
