Weighing in at only 25 pounds, the Swissrider by Swiss bike maker Thömus is the lightest electric bike to hit the market.
Thömus SA recently rolled out its new electric bicycle-the Swissrider; a lightweight and adaptable ebike that tips the scale at only 25 pounds, making it the lightest electric bicycle on the retail market.
The Swissrider is constructed with an ultra-high Modulus Carbon Frame and is powered by a maxon Bikedrive Air Motor that produces a torque output of 22 feet per pound. With a peak output of more than 300W and battery options ranging from 250Wh to 426Wh, you can travel an impressive distance on a single charge.
The Thömus Swissrider comes in three colors: dark red, sand, and black. Features include an integrated mudguard, luggage rack, and light all built into its frame. Additionally, riders will appreciate other components that include road tires that can be substituted with wider gravel tires and straight or racing handlebars.
There is a total of four Swissrider setups to select from. The XT 1×12 starts at only $5750, while the XTR 1×12 is priced at $7750. The Ultegra Di2 2×12 has an MSRP of $6250 and the Dura Ace Di2 2×12 has a price tag of $7750.
With the debut of the Swissrider, also comes the launch of the Thömus USA flagship store in Santa Monica, California on Montana Avenue that offers a premium selection of high performance Thömus bike products.
“The Swissrider is an e-bike for life and is light enough to carry up the stairs or hang on the train without effort, yet it has enough power to ride with ease. Only a discreetly integrated control element on the top tube suggests this is an electric bike,” said Thomas Binggeli, CEO and Founder of Thömus.
