Philadelphia’s premier music and culture festival, The Roots Picnic, is set to return in 2025 with a lineup that promises to be one of the biggest in its storied history. Hosted by The Roots in partnership with Live Nation Urban, this two-day festival will once again take over The Mann in Fairmount Park on May 31 and June 1, 2025. With legendary headliners like D’Angelo, Lenny Kravitz, and Meek Mill, along with an electrifying mix of hip-hop, R&B, and dance music’s hottest names, The Roots Picnic 2025 will be legendary.
Since its inception in 2007, The Roots Picnic has established itself as a cultural powerhouse, bridging generations and genres while celebrating the legacy of one of hip-hop’s most innovative groups. Past performers have included Lil Wayne, The Weeknd, Nas, Usher, Pharrell, Snoop Dogg, and André 3000, among others. Now, with a fresh lineup blending legendary acts with rising stars, The Roots Picnic 2025 will continue this tradition of musical excellence and cultural impact.
The 2025 festival headliners are heavy hitters. D’Angelo will take the stage with The Roots, marking his triumphant return to The Roots Picnic after years away from the spotlight. Lenny Kravitz will bring his timeless vibes to Philadelphia, performing hits spanning his illustrious career alongside tracks from his latest album, Blue Electric Light. Philly’s own Meek Mill will make his long-awaited Roots Picnic debut, giving fans a performance filled with hometown pride.
Beyond the headliners, The Roots Picnic 2025 is stacked with talent, featuring GloRilla, Miguel, Tems, Latto, Kaytranada, Jeezy, Pusha T, 2 Chainz, Musiq Soulchild, Jagged Edge, and Crystal Waters. Special anniversary celebrations will also take place, including Jeezy commemorating 20 years of Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101 and Musiq Soulchild celebrating 25 years of Aijuswanaseing. The Roots themselves will perform a special set honoring the 30th anniversary of Do You Want More?!!!??!
In addition to the main performances, The Roots Picnic 2025 will feature a vibrant lineup of day parties and DJ sets. Festival-goers can expect Trap Karaoke, Chill Vibes featuring DJ Aktive, Doo-Wop …That R&B Party, Dear Summer Festival, Kirk Franklin’s Sunday School, and Interna$hional Bounce, among others.
Last year’s sold-out Roots Picnic drew massive crowds and featured legendary moments, including a historic performance by Lil Wayne, a New Orleans tribute set, and even appearances by Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker, both honoring The Roots for their contributions to the city’s arts and culture. Given this track record, The Roots Picnic 2025 is poised to raise the bar even higher.
Tickets for The Roots Picnic 2025 will go on pre-sale starting February 18 at 10 AM ET and run through February 20 at 10 PM ET. The general on-sale begins February 21 at 10 AM ET, with options for weekend passes and VIP packages available at The Roots Picnic official website.
