The Bridgette Mayer Gallery, in partnership with The Fellowship of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA), invites us to dive deep into the richness of creativity with the PAFA 127th Annual Exhibition, entitled Land & Sea and Everything in Between. Running from January 8 to 25, 2025, this juried exhibition will showcase the talents of 53 artists while celebrating the legacy of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (PAFA), one of America’s oldest and most prestigious art institutions.
Curated by gallery owner Bridgette Mayer, this year’s exhibition delves deeply into the diversity and breadth of artistic expression—highlighting various media such as painting, sculpture, drawing, and digital. The theme, “Land & Sea and Everything in Between,” encapsulates the connections forged through art, overreaching boundaries and bridging diverse experiences that resonate within the viewer.
In the process of selecting works for the exhibition, Mayer filtered through over 120 submissions, each entry reflecting the dedication and skill nurtured through PAFA’s esteemed programs. “This exhibition was a joy to curate,” Mayer expressed, emphasizing the richness found within both large and small pieces, and the stunning variety of sculptural forms on display.
The opening reception at the gallery (709 Walnut Street, 1st Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19106) for the PAFA 127th Annual Fellowship Exhibition on Friday, January 10, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, hosts a lively atmosphere where you can engage with the art and artists themselves, as six prestigious awards will also be announced during this event as the Fellowship of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts remains committed to uplifting and celebrating the arts.
