Philadelphia welcomes the opening of the Museum Of Illusions and invites you to a mind-bending interactive experience.
The Museum Of Illusions began in 2015 in Zagreb, Croatia, where the first museum was opened. Today, there are over 35 museums globally with one that recently opened its doors to the public right here in the heart of Old City, Philadelphia. The Museum of Illusions Philadelphia showcases up to 60 different exhibits that challenge your brain using immersive, interactive, and educational installations allowing you to understand how illusions can play tricks on your perception and senses. From optical illusions to holograms, brainteasers, and puzzles that offer a really fun way to learn about how our brain processes things in different methods and can be quite deceiving, at times.
One example is the “Vortex Tunnel” exhibit which can confuse your vestibular system. For a second you don’t know if you’re standing still or moving! You’re not only experiencing the sensations firsthand but also learning about them as everything is explained in the same way that a magician would tell you how they do their magic tricks… Before they explain, things seem impossible. But after an explanation, you realize that your immediate perception was altered into seeing or believing something else.
These exhibits are designed to reveal how our brain interprets, and even alters reality.
The Museum of Illusions Philadelphia hours are Monday through Friday, noon until 9 pm. Tickets are available for purchase online for guaranteed admission. Suited for all ages, this museum is family-oriented. It’s an absolute must if you want to explore the mechanics of your mind.
