
In celebration of Women’s History Month, Hyatt Centric Center City Philadelphia is collaborating with InLiquid to host, The Edge of Abstraction, featuring the work of Diane Pieri and Erin Elman. Running until mid-May, this curated showcase underscores the transformative power of abstraction, color, and material exploration.
The Edge of Abstraction: A Celebration of Color and Meaning
Diane Pieri’s captivating artworks transform naval flotillas into floral formations, drawing inspiration from a fusion of diverse cultural traditions. Her extensive artistic career has been recognized by esteemed awards such as the Pollock-Krasner Grant and a Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Grant.

Erin Elman, born in Brooklyn NY serves as the Dean of Graduate and Professional Studies at Philadelphia’s University of the Arts. Her work complements Pieri’s vision through the investigation of color that bridges intention with spontaneity. Elman merges Eastern philosophies with Western aesthetics, creating paintings rich in dialogue between memory, form, and abstraction.

The Edge of Abstraction: Meet the Makers Reception
The “Meet the Makers” opening reception on Thursday, March 27, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Hyatt Centric Center City Philadelphia offers you the opportunity to engage with the artists over light bites and crafted cocktails.

The Edge of Abstraction is a vibrant celebration of artistic excellence, cultural dialogue, and abstract creativity, set against the stylish backdrop of Hyatt Centric’s modern aesthetic.
