It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Podcast, The Always Sunny Podcast, makes a date at The Met Philadelphia.
Barely a year old, the caustic comic trio behind the long-running FXX series “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” will bring the equally sardonic “The Always Sunny Podcast” to live stages for the first time, debuting the gig at the Bourbon and Beyond fest in Louisville, KY, on September 17, and then, the next night, in hometown Philly for a September 18 show at The Met Philadelphia.
That means Philly’s own Rob McElhenney (Mac) along with Glenn Howerton (Dennis) and Charlie Day (Charlie) will return to the “Always Sunny” television series’ stomping crowd.
“We’re really excited to take this show on the road, and bring the Podcast to Bourbon and Beyond in Louisville and the iconic Met Philadelphia. There’s nothing we enjoy more than being in the same room as all the amazing Sunny fans out there,” wrote Howerton.
Though not exactly rare that the cast, including Danny DeVito and Kaitlin Olson, comes home to Philly to film outdoor location scenes (lots of stuff in the Italian Market, for instance), any time McElhenny and company get back to home turf is a treat as the cast are cool with local crowds.
At the Bourbon and Beyond fest, McElhenney, Howerton and Day join forces with a lineup that includes Pearl Jam, Jack White, Kings of Leon and Chris Stapleton, and is produced by Danny Wimmer Presents.
In Philly, the Live Nation show – which, like the Bourbon and Beyond gig will find the podcasters delving into the deep recesses of every one of its seasons (the “Always Sunny” crew just finished number 15) – is already this fall’s hottest ticket even before it goes on sale, Friday (June 17) at 10 am.
“We look forward to welcoming Charlie, Glenn, and Rob from the highly-acclaimed It’s Always Sunny podcast live to The Met Philadelphia for a fun, unforgettable night of storytelling, memories, and Philly talk, “writes Geoff Gordon, the Regional President, Live Nation Northeast.
Don’t sleep on the “Always Sunny Podcast,” ticket sale. This will sell out.
