This September, in collaboration with the Philadelphia Navy Yard, the Philadelphia-based art collective Group X unveils a 35-foot-tall art installation titled “Seated Little Cloud” by international artists FriendsWithYou at Crescent Park. FriendsWithYou is the multidisciplinary artist duo of Samuel Borkson and Arturo Sandoval III from Los Angeles. Their new work seeks to bring a touch of positivity and modern spirituality to the world through its larger-than-life sculpture.
“Seated Little Cloud” will be FriendsWithYou’s first public art project in Philadelphia. Group X has a record of transforming public spaces with innovative and immersive art installations. Their collaboration with the Philadelphia Navy Yard has resulted in a series of thought-provoking public art projects, and “Seated Little Cloud” is no exception.
The unveiling of “Seated Little Cloud” is scheduled for Thursday, September 5th, at Navy Yard’s Crescent Park, near Broad Street and League Island Boulevard. The installation will be open to the public from sunup to sundown throughout the month.
