Philly’s French restaurant and bar, Townsend, is hosting Pré et Marée, a one-night-only Surf & Turf multi-course tasting event, crafted by Chef Townsend Wentz in collaboration with Executive Chef Alex Nissley, on Thursday, October 17, with a single seating at 6:30 PM.
Diners will embark on a journey highlighting the best of land and sea. The five-course tasting menu begins with an array of enticing starters. The amuse-bouche features pintxos and tempura-fried oysters paired with merguez sausage and Mahon cheese. The adventure continues with Blue Prawn wrapped in prosciutto accompanied by rouille and a unique Pont-Neuf potato topped with vanilla ice cream, golden Ossetra caviar, chicken skin mimosa, and deviled egg yolks.
The first course showcases delicacies such as Filet Mignon Tartare, and a Peekytoe Crab Omelette drizzled with Sorrel-Vermouth Cream. Grilled Lamb’s Tongue served with boquerones and ravigote sauce adds a sophisticated touch. The menu progresses with Sea Scallops paired with a rich foie gras pithivier, black truffle, and sauce tabac, highlighting the chefs’ mastery in combining luxurious ingredients.
The main course features a 28-day dry-aged Côte de Boeuf served alongside butter-poached Maine lobster and Armagnac-poached prunes. To conclude the evening, guests will indulge in a decadent Chocolate Soufflé accompanied by Chartreuse anglaise.
Pré et Marée at Townsend is priced at $145 per person, with the option to enhance the experience by adding a curated wine pairing from in-house sommelier Gordana Kostovski.
