This spring, the venue celebrates the rich culture of vinyl collecting with the Pop-Up Vinyl Market on March 30 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Fans of the Wax are invited to dive into an extensive selection of records, ranging from hot new releases to treasured classics, all while savoring drinks and dishes from the adjoining Sassafras.
The event lineup continues with standout performances, such as the appearance of Philadelphia’s DJ Hong, bringing his vast collection of Latin vinyl to the stage on March 31. Guests can anticipate an intimate performance by the contemporary folk duo Fellow Pynins on April 10, adding a touch of acoustic elegance to the bar’s vibrant atmosphere.
48 Record Bar goes beyond live music, offering an array of listening parties and special events that cater to every audiophile’s dream. The Khruangbin A La Sala Midnight Listening Party on April 4 is where guests can immerse themselves in the band’s latest album. The bar’s reading series, Liner Notes, promises evenings of poetic expression and literary delight, with sessions scheduled for April 10 and May 5. Giving props where props are due, the bar will commemorate 30 years of Nas’ iconic album “Illmatic” with a live podcast taping and listening party on April 17.
