PHRIENDS – The One With the Murder, presented by Without A Cue Productions, puts a murder mystery spin on a TV classic at South Street’s Counter Culture.
PHRIENDS is an interactive murder mystery show running until December 20th at Counter Culture (514 South Street) where Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Monica, Phoebe and Joey embark on a journey to Philadelphia for the grand opening of “Fairmount Perk”. The plot thickens as Gunther’s cafe chain doesn’t quite go as planned due to some interpersonal drama and some surprise visitors. Upon entering the show, guests will be transported to a 90s inspired environment as they try to solve a mysterious murder. While enjoying the show, guests can also participate in a fun scavenger hunt by downloading an app on their smartphone.
Pops McCann Whiskey, a Philadelphia-based company, provides cocktails throughout the performance, offering beer, wine, and a coffee-themed cocktail all while sitting in the “Fairmount Perk” coffee shop. Counter Culture is also collaborating with legendary neighborhood bar Tattooed Mom which has commissioned 50 Philadelphia street artists to create rare artwork that covers the four walls of the venue.
“Counter Culture could not be more excited to host Without A Cue’s interactive murder mystery event that is based on the popular show ‘Friends’. We feel our eclectic space will compliment Without A Cue’s production of “Phriends” culminating in a ton of fun for everyone. ” – Christian Dalzell, Co-Founder of Counter Management LLC.
“We are so excited to finally be able to open PHRIENDS – The One With Murder after a more than two year wait. We are especially thrilled to be able to partner with Counter Culture on South Street to bring this uniquely Philadelphia-centric project to a uniquely Philadelphia-centric venue.” – Traci Connaughton, Without A Cue Productions’ Founder and Executive Director.
