Philly Pheast Benefit Hosted by Culinary Careers Program

Philadelphia’s culinary event, Philly Pheast, returns on April 28, 2025, bringing together the city’s top chefs and the next generation of culinary talent. Held at Michael Solomonov’s Lilah from 6 PM to 9:30 PM, this benefit will honor legendary Chef Jean Marie Lacroix while supporting the Culinary Careers Program (C-CAP), a nonprofit dedicated to providing aspiring chefs with life-changing opportunities.

C-CAP plays a vital role in the future of the hospitality industry, connecting 23,000 students annually to career pathways and educational programs. In Philadelphia alone, C-CAP supports 20 high schools and 1,600 students, fostering their growth through hands-on training and mentorship. Philly Pheast furthers this mission, offering an unforgettable dining experience that pairs local chefs with students to craft a menu that reflects both tradition and innovation.

The evening will begin with a cocktail reception at 6 PM, where guests can enjoy hors d’oeuvres crafted by C-CAP students and alumni chefs, followed by a multi-course meal celebrating Philadelphia’s rich culinary heritage. This year’s lineup will feature renowned Lacroix alumni, including Chef David Jansen, Chef Townsend Wentz, and Chef Eric Leveillee. Guests will also indulge in desserts prepared by Chef Ligia Richter.

As part of its mission, Philly Pheast will also serve as a platform for awarding scholarships to students pursuing higher education in the culinary arts. These scholarships will empower future chefs, helping them gain entry into some of the nation’s top culinary programs and continue Philadelphia’s legacy of excellence in food and hospitality.
