The Jane Gallery in Old City will host “Icons, Influence & You”, a solo exhibit by Philadelphia-based artist Nataliya Yermolenko. This show honors Women’s History Month by merging past and present portraiture in a striking collection that showcases both historical and contemporary female figures. The opening reception is arranged for Friday, March 7, from 5:30 to 9 PM, inviting visitors to engage with Yermolenko’s work, participate in an interactive experience, and celebrate womanhood.

Nataliya Yermolenko, born in Moldova, and now based in Philadelphia is acknowledged for her editorial fashion-inspired portraiture and conceptual figurative art. Her style blends bold color palettes, brushstrokes, and storytelling, making each piece an evocative tribute to identity and influence. For “Icons, Influence & You”, Yermolenko’s body of work features paintings inspired by pioneering women in the arts while also incorporating modern figures that were chosen through an open call for submissions. The selected contemporary portraits, reimagined in Yermolenko’s signature style, will be exhibited alongside the historical works, activating the persistence of female influence across generations.
Yermolenko explains the vision: “We wanted to create an exhibit that not only honors the women who have paved the way but also invites the community to actively participate in shaping the narrative. By incorporating local and personal inspirations, “Icons, Influence & You” fosters a personal connection between the audience and the artwork, making it a truly immersive experience.”
