Philly’s eighth edition of the one-night-only secret affair, Le Dîner en Blanc, drew 6,000 guests, making it the largest gathering in the country this year.
The steady stream of dazzling white-clad attendees along the Philadelphia Museum of Art, all carrying their own food, tables, chairs, and tablecloths, revealed the annual all-white pop-up dinner party, Le Dîner en Blanc, was at secret locations appointed on and beyond Boathouse Row along Kelly Drive.
While many of the guests were Le Dîner en Blanc regulars, it is without a doubt that it was the first time attendees had traversed the iconic roadway as pedestrians and seated diners. The temporary dining setup is part of the event’s founding mission statement to bring awareness to the unexpected beauty and value of public spaces.
Attendees dined, danced, and delighted in this year’s variety of entertainment. Multiple rounds of celebratory toasts rung out between friends new and old partaking in a worldwide event that spans six continents. However, shortly after the sunset along the unique landscape, the dining experience was cut short by sudden lighting storms.
The “Most Elegant Table” judges included Jeff Guarcaino, President of Visit Philly, Alicia Vitarelli, 6abc news personality, and Christina Henck, owner of Henck Designs.
