“No Middle Cla$$” a new exhibition by Philadelphia artist, King Saladeen is running through the end of December.
“No Middle Cla$$” is King Saladeen’s solo exhibition at Corridor Contemporary, featuring multimedia pieces that reflect Philadelphia and King Saladeen and his childhood growing up in the city that he calls home.
“In Conversation with King Saladeen” artist talks will be dotting the landscape of the exhibition’s run-time at Corridor Contemporary. Student visits from local schools will be hosted at the gallery so the youth can explore the body of work on display and talk to artist King Saladeen about his journey through life and how he found his passion in art.
“My work has always been concerned with commemoration, with remembering and with showing my pride in my story. With ‘No Middle Cla$$’ I want to bring you with me into my meditations on the landscape of my childhood, but I also want to give you a lens for seeing some of those struggles and all the existing promise. So, while the works I present in ‘No Middle Cla$$’ demonstrate my self-taught skill in their textured, multi-media approach, they are also an incredibly exciting homage to the city of my childhood and a full-circle moment for me,” – King Saladeen.
The exhibition will be available to view until December 31st. The gallery is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
