Meet and connect with Philadelphia-based Art and Creative Consultant, Kim Pepper.
Name: Kim Pepper
Occupation: Founder of Avec Art Consulting, a full-service art consulting firm based in Philadelphia, dedicated to thoughtful art curation for both corporate and residential clients.
Current city: Philadelphia.
Born and raised there or imported? I was born in Abington, just outside the city, and have lived in Philly for the past 20 years.
What is your connection to your current city? I’m deeply connected through my work and family. This city has so much going on as well as being so easily accessible to New York, Washington D.C., and the Jersey Shore. Philly’s location for my business and personal life can’t be beat!
What’s your favorite restaurant? Kalaya. My husband and I started going to Kalaya four years ago when they first opened two blocks away from us on Catharine Street, and it was ammmmazing! They recently expanded to a larger location in Fishtown. The ‘Pla Nung Manao’ Branzino (steamed whole branzino with lime, chicken stock, fish sauce, cilantro, and seafood nam jim) dish is my hands-down favorite.
Best place to shop? For food and gifts, always Dibrunos. Whenever I need a spectacular gift basket or cheese/charcuterie board, they make it super simple and special. Plus, they ship!
What is your one favorite “best kept secret” about your city? Something that you and only a few others know about but everyone should? It’s not so much a secret, but more Philadelphians should absolutely attend First Fridays in the city. It’s a wonderful way to support local businesses and artists and get a first look at new exhibitions.
What makes your city your city? What do you absolutely love about it? I am so proud to be a Philadelphian. I love the arts community here. It’s constantly growing and evolving. The talent and passion in Philly is beyond compare.
