The Twisted Tail hosts Philly’s largest all-day street festival to celebrate the 149th Kentucky Derby.
The Twisted Tail is hosting its Kentucky Derby Party on Saturday, May 6th. The festivities begin at 11 am at Headhouse Square Plaza. On deck for the day are Derby-inspired food and drinks, a Maker’s Mark Mint Julep Tent, lawn games, best-dressed contests, a jumbotron screen to view the race, raffles, giveaways, live music, and more.
A six-hour live music concert will begin at noon, featuring local blues artists such as Shakey Lee, Brad & Margie, Tom Craig Band, Collin Bunch Band, and Gypsy Joe Alves & the Groove Prophets.
At 6 pm, settle in to watch the running of the 149th Kentucky Derby. Guests can even enter a raffle for the winning horse draw for prizes.
“We’re beyond excited to be back with our full Derby Day celebration this year, and it’s going to be bigger than ever,” said George Reilly, owner of The Twisted Tail. “Thanks to Levante Brewing and Beam Suntory, we’re pulling out all the stops.”
Arrive at the Kentucky Derby Party early, as seating is first come, first served. Everyone will be chomping at the bit and jockeying for position… And they’re off!
