Japanese Breakfast is back, and this time, they’re ready to take us on a journey through the nuanced landscapes of longing and introspection with their eagerly anticipated Japanese Breakfast Melancholy Tour. Set to launch in 2025, this tour marks a notable evolution for the band as they prepare to unveil their new album, “For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women)”, and promises an experience that melds musical innovation with emotional depth. “For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women)” touches like a revelation for frontwoman Michelle Zauner—one that promises to navigate the murky waters of melancholy that often accompany artistic ambition.
A premier stop on the Japanese Breakfast Melancholy Tour is scheduled on May 16, 2025, at The Met in Philadelphia, a homecoming for Zauner that pledges to be as personal as it is powerful. This tour is the band’s first run in three years and is an invitation for fans to engage with their newest artistic expressions live. With the lead single “Orlando in Love” already teasing the depth of what’s to come, you can anticipate the musical mastery the band is known for, combined with a narrative richness that pulls from both classical myth and contemporary observation.
