In Resonance, part of the Encounters Series, is a captivating exhibition of art, music, and culture at Scorpios curated by HOFA Gallery.
Scorpios, the renowned creative haven nestled in Mykonos, is set to host a groundbreaking cultural initiative that merges contemporary art and music. ‘In Resonance’ is the inaugural edition of Scorpios Encounters, a platform dedicated to cultural experimentation.
From July 13 to September 3, this captivating program will bring together leading generative artists and musicians, offering visitors a mesmerizing journey through curated art installations, exclusive digital art drops, live performances, and bespoke music compositions. The collaboration between art and tech pioneers HOFA Gallery and Scorpios promises to create an unprecedented cultural experience.
Renowned Turkish-American media artist and director Refik Anadol will take center stage at ‘In Resonance.’ Anadol’s immersive and interactive works have earned global acclaim, with digital collectible sales surpassing $30 million. At Scorpios, Anadol will unveil his latest collection, co-created with Brazil’s Yawanawa Indigenous communities of Aldeia Sagrada and Nova Esperança. This collaboration, facilitated by Impact One, explores the profound connection between Yawanawa culture and the Brazilian Amazon. Anadol and Impact One will donate their share of proceeds to support long-term initiatives to protect Yawanawa heritage.
The program will also feature trailblazing female AI artist Dr. Ivona Tau, known for her experimental photography and motion paintings. Tau’s works, developed in collaboration with Jean Claude Ades, will be based on light data collected on the mystical island of Delos. Additionally, French biological generative artist and musician Agoria will present an artwork created through the fusion of sunset data captured at Scorpios. New Zealander Jesse Woolston will contribute AI artworks exploring the themes of knowledge, spiritual beliefs, and the power of AI in the fight against climate change.
‘In Resonance’ showcases a diverse array of talents. Hugo Johnson, the mesmerizing visual storyteller, will collaborate with Bedouin, known for their fusion of Middle Eastern and Western sounds, to present their masterpiece ‘Zorba.’ This innovative creation reimagines extreme weather phenomena using geographic data.
Australian light sculptor Jason Sims will team up with the musical prodigy of meditative soundscapes, Satori, to offer viewers an immersive exploration of natural systems through light.
The collaboration between Azeri’s new media artist Orkhan and Scorpios Mykonos’ music director Lannka will present a new work in the Relic series. Their exploration of Eastern cultural heritage and tapestries will come to life through physical data sculptures and paintings.
