Philly’s Jose Garces hits Wells Fargo Center this fall with his new concept, Garces Eats.
One of the 2022 summer’s greatest preoccupations has been looking forward to seeing what local businesses and Philadelphia entrepreneurs will join forces with the sporting complex, Wells Fargo Center, and its new multi-million dollar refurbishing for fall. And while Stephen Starr has already made his intentions known with his eatery in the new WFC’s VIP dining room, Philadelphia-based Iron Chef, owner and operator Jose Garces is just making the announcement that a new concept, Garces Eats, will debut at Wells Fargo Center, late in September. The bistro will be located on the WFC’s re-building Club level and feature a rotating menu of fan favorites from his restaurants such as Amada, Village Whiskey, Distrito, The Olde Bar, and Buena Onda, as well as new items Chef Garces wants to explore.
Add to Garces’ busy schedule of franchising-expanding of the Baja-inspired taqueria, Buena Onda, with upcoming spaces in the Rittenhouse area and Radnor, PA to start, and September’s first Garces Gala since before the pandemic in September, and the chef-author has been very active.
Back to the Wells Fargo, along with offering Village Whiskey’s Smash Burgers and Duck Fat Fries and The Olde Bar’s Buffalo Cauliflower with Buttermilk Ranch and Gin Pickled Celery, Garces Eats will feature new items such as a JG Mission-Style Burrito Bar with Pork Carnitas or Al Pastor, Chile Braised Beef and Adobo Chicken.
“Having the opportunity to bring my Garces Eats concept to the Club Level has been hugely exciting for me,” writes Garces. “At its core, Garces Eats is intended as an extension of my personal test kitchen and studio, where I will be bringing the best of handheld and bowl-based foods from around the world to one of the most dynamic event venues in the country.”
