Philadelphia’s vibrant Fishtown neighborhood is gearing up for its grandest street festival yet – the Fishtown Fall Feastivale, and it’s back with a bang! Scheduled for Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm, this all-day block party promises spectacular entertainment for all ages.
Thanks to the collaborative efforts of Fishtown District and the Penn Treaty Special Services District, this year’s Feastivale is poised to outdo all previous editions. Located on Frankford Avenue, from Girard to Palmer, this festival extravaganza will offer everything from delicious outdoor food and drinks, electrifying DJs and live music, thrilling carnival games, a celebrity dunk tank for charity, and a vast showcase of vendors, artists, and community groups.
Prepare your taste buds for an incredible culinary adventure featuring some of Philadelphia’s culinary giants. Names like Alamodak, Bottle Bar East, Cheu Noodle Bar, Evil Genius Beer Co., Fette Sau, and many more will serve up delectable street food and seasonal sips. But that’s not all! Frankford Hall is rolling out the Oktoberfest carpet with oompah music, kids’ crafts, balloon artists, and face painters.
Kae Anderson, Director of Operations at Fishtown District, expressed her excitement: “Fishtown Fall Feastivale is the perfect way to eat your way down Frankford Avenue. It is our biggest lineup of restaurants and bars ever. Come find your favorites, or try something new and different. There’s going to be something for everyone!”
Established in 2020, the Fishtown District aims to enhance the area’s quality of life for businesses and property owners. It seeks to attract new commerce, creating a thriving retail corridor while preserving Fishtown’s rich history and innovative character.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Fishtown Fall Feastivale, which started in 2013 during Philly Beer Week. Initially focused on the neighborhood’s renowned beer scene, but in 2022, it transformed into a fall food festival encompassing a diverse range of cuisines and drinks.
The festival boasts over 30 food and drink options, offering everything from burgers to brisket, pretzels to bratwurst, and cheesesteaks to veggie sausage. Additionally, it’s a celebration of Fishtown’s bustling creative arts and retail scene. The event will highlight local merchants and a vast array of artists and makers.
Music enthusiasts will have a blast with three DJ stages programmed by the Frankford Tiki Bar, Johnny Brenda’s, and Fishtown District. Music will fill the air from noon to 8:00 pm, with the lineup set to be announced in mid-September.
This year’s festival has expanded its family fun zone for families, including a carnival game area with various games for kids. There’s even face painting, balloon art, kids’ crafts, and pop-up family fun inside Frankford Hall by PlayArts.
Moreover, the Lutheran Settlement House Charity Celebrity Dunk Tank will feature local “celebrities,” and proceeds will support their community services. For fans of Oktoberfest, Frankford Hall will be hosting its annual celebration with live music, Bavarian food, outdoor beer tents, and more.
Fishtown Fall Feastivale stretches along Frankford Avenue, from Girard Avenue to Palmer Ave, with additional activities on Master and Thompson Streets. It’s conveniently located near the Girard Stop on the Market-Frankford Line, and there are plenty of boutiques, cafes, restaurants, and more to explore in the area.
