Dope Shows is giving local artists an opportunity to perform with hip hop heavyweights at its Five Year Anniversary Dope Shows Birthday Bash.
I love it when Philly helps Philly, especially when it means that talented undiscovered or lesser-known performers get some of the spotlight. And thanks to Jamir Shaw and Stephen Piner, local artists can compete at the duo’s Dope Shows Artist Showcase in front of a panel of judges. The prize? A performance slot at the annual Dope Shows Birthday Bash concert at the Wells Fargo Center with headliners Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Gunna, and G Herbo.
Contestants in the Dope Shows Local Artist Showcase will perform before a panel of record label executives. The label execs will judge the acts and award one talented artist the opportunity to perform in front of their home crowd on February 2, 2022, at the Wells Fargo Center. How dope is that?
“We are looking to give one hard-working artist from the city of Philadelphia an opportunity to perform in the city’s biggest indoor arena, the Wells Fargo Center. Dope Shows thought it was important that we highlight local talent with the show and push the envelope to discover the next great hip hop artist from Philly,” says Dope Shows co-founders, Stephen Piner and Jamir Shaw.
Hopeful artists can purchase performance slots for the Dope Shows Local Artist Showcase online and get ready to bring the heat on January 16, 2022 at the Foundry (29 E Allen St, Philadelphia, PA 19123).
