For 30 plus years, with the help of local Philly restaurants, Action Wellness has hosted Dining Out For Life to nourish those living locally with HIV.
Action Wellness is once again hosting the annual Dining Out For Life event to raise funds for HIV care services in the Philadelphia community. Dining Out For Life is a one-day fundraising event that has been taking place for over 30 years. During this event, participating restaurants across the city donate a portion of their proceeds from food sales to Action Wellness, a non-profit organization that provides HIV care services to individuals in Philadelphia.
“The whole concept of Dining Out For Life is very simple and it was conceived by one of our volunteers over 32 years ago. The idea is that people make a reservation, go out to a participating restaurant, have a wonderful dinner and then the restaurant donates a percentage back,” explained Kevin J. Burns, Executive Director of Action Wellness. “We’re excited to be back in the restaurants and have people come together and be together.”
Action Wellness was founded in 1986 and is committed to making sure everyone living with HIV can access the care they need. Over the past three decades, the organization has helped countless people get connected to doctors, mental health services, housing programs, and more.
Dining Out For Life is one of the organization’s biggest fundraisers of the year and helps to ensure that Action Wellness can continue its mission of providing care and services to those living with HIV.
This year’s Dining Out For Life will take place on Thursday, April 28th. To find a participating restaurant near you, or to make a donation, visit the Action Wellness website.
