Dine Latino 2024 Restaurant Week is back for its eighth year. From April 7 through 13, lovers of food and indulgers of the culinary arts will partake in a week-long celebration of vibrant Latino-owned restaurants and businesses.
Established initially to aid Latino-owned restaurants during the challenging times of the pandemic, Dine Latino Restaurant Week has evolved into a significant event on the Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s calendar. It aims to foster growth and raise awareness for these vital community businesses. Sponsored by AAA Insurance, the initiative allows diners to partake in various culinary styles beyond traditional Latino cuisine at no additional cost to the participating restaurants.
Dine Latino 2024 includes an impressive roster of participants offering takeout, delivery, and indoor dining options. Restaurants like Izlas Latin Cuisine, Amigos Restaurant and Pizzeria, and Brazas BBQ Chicken will showcase their culinary prowess, offering something for every palate. The diversity of participating establishments, from Arepa Grub Spot to Happy Maki Sushi, ensures diners can explore the full spectrum of Latino culinary creativity. Participating venues are offering diners a complimentary appetizer or dessert with the purchase of two dinner entrees.
A highlight of Dine Latino Restaurant Week will be the Chef’s Tasting event featuring Juan Andres Placencia, the celebrated chef-owner of Brazas BBQ Chicken. Set for April 11, this event will delve into the fusion of Peruvian flavors, allowing attendees to taste Placencia’s famous BBQ chicken and ceviche. Placencia, a Culinary Institute of America alum trained under Jean-Georges Vongerichten, transitioned from operating a ghost kitchen during the pandemic to opening a brick-and-mortar location on South Street, Philadelphia.
