Chef Melissa Fernando, the owner of Sri’s Company, is September’s featured chef for the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s Chef in Residence Program.
For the first weekend in September, Chef Melissa Fernando will commandeer the Local and Global food station in the newly reopened Cafe eatery inside of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. As part of the Art Museum’s Chef in Residence program, activated by the Constellation Culinary Group, Chef Fernando will offer museum-goers authentic Sri Lankan food, with items also found on the menu from her restaurant, Sri’s Company.
The Chef in Residence program is a portion of the Art Museum’s and the Constellation Culinary Group’s commitment to local Philadelphia artisans of food and beverage in which their goods can be spotlighted and promoted in a fitting experience. The list of chefs that have participated in the program includes James Beard Award Nominee Tova du Plessis of Essen Bakery and Nana Wilmot of Georgina’s Foods. The coming months of October and November will introduce chefs Nok Suntaranon of Kalaya, and Keep’s Mike Jenkins and Melody Lauletta.
