Influenced by the United Kingdoms’s 2 tone and Ska bands, the Philly Ska revivalists, Catbite, released their sophomore album “Nice One” in 2021. “Stay”, a melodic and infectious two-stepper is one of the outstanding singles.
A Black/Woman/Speaks – Sonia Sanchez
Released in 1971, a collection of poems aimed to uplift the Black community, specifically the Black woman, for whom Sanchez continues to be an advocate. Brilliant

Double Doink Dabke – West Philadelphia Orchestra
Philly’s favorite brass band, West Philadelphia Orchestra, releases “Double Doink Dabke”, a super infectious Reggaefied meets Balkan inspired composition.
Philadelphia’s Lotus is an instrumental jam band that favors more groove based improvisation than the goody and gimmicky. Over the years, their unique musical blend of electronica with jam music has helped forge a new path in the jam band landscape.
