Bluebird Distilling partners with The Jetty Rock Foundation to release a new bourbon called Breakwater Bourbon. Learn how each bottle sold contributes to cleaner oceans and waterways.
In a move that marries craftsmanship and conservation, Bluebird Distilling has teamed up with The Jetty Rock Foundation to launch their latest creation — Breakwater Bourbon. As the nonprofit arm of the Jetty brand, The Jetty Rock Foundation has donated millions to environmental and community initiatives since its inception in 2014. This unique partnership aims to make waves in the spirits industry and environmental conservation. Starting mid-September, 10 percent of proceeds from each Breakwater Bourbon bottle sold will go towards safeguarding and preserving oceans and waterways.
Designed to evoke memories of late-summer bonfires by the sea, Breakwater Bourbon captures the essence of coastal adventure. This collaboration blends Jetty’s commitment to quality-crafted goods and Bluebird Distilling’s devotion to world-class spirits. Jared Adkins, the Founder, and Master Distiller of Bluebird Distilling, expressed his excitement over the partnership, stating, “As an avid surfer, I’m a fan of the Jetty brand and admire the work that The Jetty Rock Foundation does to protect our oceans and waterways. It’s a thrill to be able to combine our passions to produce a spirit that gives back to this incredibly important cause – protecting and maintaining waterways on the East Coast.”
On the technical side, Breakwater Bourbon brings a robust mash bill of corn, wheat, rye, barley, and smoked cherry malt to the table. Aged for 5 to 7 years in charred American Oak and finished in Brazilian Amburana barrels, it boasts complex tasting notes like light smoke, sweet cherry, vanilla, and baking spice. Priced at $54.99, the 750 ml bottle is perfect for those looking to savor quality while supporting environmental sustainability.
Jeremy DeFilippis, Jetty CEO and Co-founder highlighted the synergy between the smokiness and sweetness of Breakwater Bourbon and Jetty Rock Oysters, stating, “We’re thrilled to partner up with a fellow ocean lover that shares our mission of maintaining healthy waterways. The smokiness and sweetness of Breakwater Bourbon pairs perfectly with our Jetty Rock Oysters from Barnegat Bay and is even reminiscent of an oyster fresh off the grill.
Whether in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or anywhere in the U.S., Breakwater Bourbon can be found on Bluebird Distilling’s online store, Char & Stave locations in Pennsylvania, and select retailers. The bottle also graces the shelves of top bars and restaurants in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, further spreading its reach and mission.
