The Barnes Foundation’s annual Barnes on the Block party, in partnership with Mural Arts Philadelphia, will take place on Sunday, July 14, 2024, from noon to 5 p.m. This creative explosion of a block party promises a vibrant day of live music, food trucks, a beer garden, and a plethora of art-making activities designed to bring the community together in celebration of creativity and connection.
Barnes on the Block guests can indulge in various delicious offerings from food trucks and enjoy refreshing beverages at the Barnes on the Block Beer Garden, courtesy of Constellation Culinary Group. Guests will also enjoy live music, DJ sets, dance performances, and a wide range of family-friendly art-making activities.
Mural Arts Philadelphia will lead live painting sessions, providing a dynamic visual experience. The Clay Studio’s Claymobile will also be on-site, offering a pop-up ceramics studio where visitors can explore their creativity with clay. For those seeking a unique keepsake, personalized poems will be available, along with opportunities to create identity symbols and collages.
Visitors will have free access to the first floor of the Barnes collection, including the exciting new exhibition “Matisse & Renoir: New Encounters at the Barnes” and “Visions,” an exhibition showcasing original artwork by participants in Mural Arts Philadelphia’s Guild program and artists from SCI Phoenix. Registration is required for collection and exhibition access, with free timed admission tickets available online starting at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 11.
