The Bridgette Mayer Gallery is poised to host its 9th annual Benefit Exhibition with an Artsit Call to Art open invitation to artists to contribute their creativity in support of HelpUsAdopt.org and the Dina Wind Art Foundation. From June 11 to August 3, 2024, the gallery at 709 Walnut Street in Philadelphia will transform into a beacon of hope and generosity, showcasing artworks that transcend the ordinary.
This year’s exhibition shines a spotlight on two notable causes. HelpUsAdopt.org is a national non-profit financial grant program helping couples and individuals with the costs of their adoptions. The Dina Wind Art Foundation continues the legacy of Dina Wind, promoting and preserving her artistic contributions and supporting the broader art community. Together, these organizations underscore the exhibition’s mission: to harness the power of art for profound social impact.
Artists are encouraged to heed this call to art by contributing pieces that reflect their unique perspectives and talents. The collaborative effort aims to unite diverse voices in a unified expression of support for families in the adoption process and the preservation of artistic heritage.
Open to all artists, the exhibition seeks submissions of two and three-dimensional artworks created on a specified 10″ x 10″ Ampersand Gessobord panel. This format challenges artists to think within the bounds of a square, pushing the limits of creativity and innovation.
An application fee of $35.00 accompanies the submission, which includes an artist’s resume, current statement, headshot, and images of five existing works. The selection process will be conducted by Bridgette Mayer and juried by Dr. Brittany Webb, Evelyn, and Will Kaplan, Curator of Twentieth Century Art and the John Rhoden Collection, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Juror prizes for outstanding contributions include opportunities for further exposure and professional development, such as a Vault project space exhibition, a digital exhibition with the Dina Wind Art Foundation, and valuable coaching sessions with Bridgette Mayer Art MBA.
Selected artworks will be available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting HelpUsAdopt.org and the Dina Wind Art Foundation. This initiative financially supports these causes and offers artists a platform to gain visibility and recognition for their work. The application for submission can be found HERE.
The Bridgette Mayer Gallery’s Artist Call to Art 9th Benefit Exhibition represents a unique convergence of artistic talent and charitable giving. As artists from varied backgrounds and disciplines come together to support adoption and artistic legacy, this effort exhibition stands as a potent reminder of art’s ability to inspire change. With the application deadline set for March 27, 2024, artists have a fleeting opportunity to be part of this remarkable event, contributing to a legacy of art that extends well beyond the canvas.
