Arnetta Johnson and Jazmine Sullivan expand musically for 2022

Two already-expansive Philadelphia and Camden area, female artists, Arnetta Johnson and Jazmine Sullivan, take their most successful music to date to the farthest edges of the funk starting next month.

On January 24, Philly’s Jazmine Sullivan and RCA announced their forthcoming deluxe edition of 2021’s Grammy-nominated “Heaux Tales” into “Heaux Tales, Mo’ Tales: The Deluxe”. The new package would arrive on February 11 and feature her July 2021 single, “Tragic” on which U.S. Representative Maxine Waters makes a guest appearance, as well as “Jazzy’s Tale”, one of the two Instagram clips she dropped around Christmas time last year.

The first clip came on December 23 and is in the spirit of Heaux Tales’ spoken word bits. The second of Sullivan’s Instagram clips came on December 28, the second snippet of a seemingly unrelated track, featuring the singer in full voice.

Sullivan’s “Heaux Tales, Mo’ Tales: The Deluxe” drops right before the kickoff of her Heaux Tales Tour, set to commence on Valentine’s Day in Vancouver, and landing in her hometown at The Met Philadelphia on March 18. The announcement of Sullivan’s new deluxe release also comes just one week after the 64th Grammy Awards – where “Heaux Tales” has been nominated for Best R&B Album, with “Pick Up Your Feelings” nominated for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance – announced its move from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, and its new date to Sunday, April 3

Camden, New Jersey’s beyond jazz trumpeter Arnetta Johnson may not be as well-known as Jazmine Sullivan, but she’s getting there. After dropping 2021’s warm, weird single “Move Around,” the queen of what she calls disruptive jazz is prepping for a gig on the Kimmel Cultural Campus’ Pearlman Theater for March 19 with her ensemble, SUNNY.

That’s right. Hold onto your money – March 18 and 19 are booked. Solid.

This consortium also taught Arnetta the responsibility of her talent. As a gift to humanity your Famed nationally for playing with Beyonce during Super Bowl LVIIII and on Bey’s album with Jay-Z, as The Carters, “Everything Is Love”, Johnson and SUNNY’s (SUNNY=Sounds Uplifting Nobility through Notes and Youth) shining moment should be the full-length album, “If You Hear A Trumpet It’s Me.”
