Oloroso’s Chef Jason Peabody hosts Chef Juan Carlos Aparicio of El Chingon for the exclusive “A Taste of Yucatán” dining event.

Oloroso presents “A Taste of Yucatán,” an exclusive dining event scheduled for Monday, August 12. The dining experience will showcase the culinary prowess of Chef Juan Carlos Aparicio of El Chingon in collaboration with Oloroso’s Chef Jason Peabody.

Diners will experience Yucatecan cuisine’s vibrant and diverse world through a carefully curated five-course menu featuring a harmonious blend of authentic and contemporary Mexican flavors. The menu boasts an array of alluring offerings, including the Cold Sweet Corn Soup with Ginger, Coconut Milk, and Chipilín, and the Grilled Tomato with Burnt Eggplant Romesco, Queso de Bola Yucateco, and Fig Leaf Oil. For the main course, savor the Cochinita Pibil Negra – an exquisite Pork Shank with Black Adobo, Pickled Chiles, and Corn Tortillas, or indulge in the Wood-Fired White Fish En Adobo (Pescado Tikin Xik), elevated with Charred Chiles Gueros, Olives, and Onion Curtidos. Conclude this culinary escapade with the Yucatecan Marquisita, a delectable dessert featuring Queso de Bola, Cajeta, and Xtabentún.

A Taste of Yucatán at Oloroso

Complementing the culinary journey, Oloroso invites guests to elevate their experience with a thoughtfully curated selection of wines by the restaurant’s in-house sommelier, Gordana Kostovski. Alternatively, guests can opt for mezcal-centric cocktails crafted by Andrew Hicks, Beverage Director of Townsend Wentz Restaurant Group. The full bar at Oloroso offers an array of libations to suit every preference, from sangria and cider to an impressive selection of sherry, wine, and seasonal beverages.

“A Taste of Yucatán” is on Monday, August 12, with seatings at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Ensure your spot by making reservations early. The event is priced at $75 per person, and for an even more exceptional experience, consider adding the optional wine pairing for just $45 per person.
