Gilson Snowboards brings the chill to Xfinity Live! this weekend with its Summer Snow Day winter wonder-fest.
It’s snowing in South Philly this weekend! Gilson Summer Snow Day will make its first appearance in Philadelphia with a take over of Xfinity Live! on Saturday, July 16th, featuring snowboarding competitions, ice carving, ski artist showcases, apres-ski lodges, live music, 50 plus free drink samples, games, and the Knoebels Kids Zone.
The Gilson Summer Snow Day is more than just a fun event that provides snow, it is also a way to create awareness about the need to improve accessibility for all this winter. A portion of Gilson Summer Snow Day sales will be donated to the Share Winter Foundation. By supporting winter sports for youth, the Share Winter Foundation strives to improve their health, fitness, and lives.
“When we started this company almost 10 years ago, we always thought we’d eventually end up somewhere a snowboard company should be, like Colorado or Utah,” said Founder, Nick Gilson. “But it quickly became clear that Pennsylvania is an amazing place to build a business. We’ve had amazing support from folks like Benjamin Franklin Technology Partners, not to mention the support and energy of the local PA community. Now, we couldn’t imagine leaving The Commonwealth.”
“The support for Gilson throughout the greater Philadelphia area over the past 5 years has been amazing! We’re beyond excited to bring the party into town, for folks in the area to get a little taste of winter this July.”
Gilson concluded, “We’re most excited about just getting to kick it and party with folks in Philly, and watch some of the super talented riders and skiers shred our new mobile Iron Mountain ramp.”
VIP ticket holders will begin the event at 1 pm, while general admission will begin at 2 pm. Tickets are on sale now.
